Ishion Hutchinson was born in Port Antonio, Jamaica. His first collection, Far District, won the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award. He is an assistant professor of English at Cornell University.

Kenneth Calhoun’s short stories have appeared in numerous publications, such as the Paris Review, St. Petersburg Review, Tin House, Fence, Fiction International and the New Stories of the South anthology. His awards include the PEN/O. Henry Short Story Prize, the Italo Calvino Prize and the Summer Literary Seminars/Fence Magazine Fiction Prize. His novel, Black Moon, will be published by Crown’s Hogarth imprint in February 2014. He currently lives in Boston.

Mukoma Wa Ngugi is an assistant professor of English at Cornell University and the author of Nairobi Heat (Penguin, SA 2009, Melville House Publishing, 2011), an anthology of poetry titled Hurling Words at Consciousness(AWP, 2006) and the forthcoming Nairobi Black Star (Melville, 2013). He was shortlisted for the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2009 and for the Penguin Prize for African Writing in 2010.
