Join us for an informal lecture and conversation at Studio-X NYC, as acclaimed author (and former wine-label ghostwriter) William Fox explores the overhead imagination and grapples with our translations between space and place.
As one of a series of public events accompanying artist Meg Studer’s Aerial Artsexhibit, Fox will ask what is an aerial imperative, why do humans have it, and what do artists do with it?
William Fox is the Director of the Center for Art + Environment at the Nevada Museum of Art. Among his extensive publications on flight, aerial photography, and cultural geographies are Photography & Flight with Denis Cosgrove, Aereality: On the World from Above, and Mapping the Empty; Eight Artists in Nevada.
