The New School's Observatory on Latin America (OLA) and the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM) presents a public lecture by Germán Alejandro Linzer, the 2013-2014 President Néstor Kirchner Fellow.
Germán's lecture entitled "Challenges of Innovation: Technology Development and Intellectual Property Rights in Latin America" will be introduced by David E. Van Zandt, President, the New School and María Cristina Perceval, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Argentina to the United Nations.
Germán Alejandro Linzer will examine technology development and intellectual property rights in Latin America in the broader context of science, technology and innovation policy. In 2007, the government of Argentina created the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (MINCyT) to strengthen the diagnosis and consolidation of these policies.
Germán Alejandro Linzer is a manager of Intellectual Property Management at the National Coordinating Department of Technology Transfer of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA). He received a BA in economics from the University of Buenos Aires and holds a Masters in Science, Technology and Innovation Management from the National University of General Sarmiento (UNGS), Institute for Social and Economic Development (IDES), and Centro REDES.
