What are the politics of the creative economy? Has the development of the city’s creative economies helped or exacerbated existing inequalities? What is the current state of the city’s creative life, and how does it relate to gentrification? To explore these and related questions, the Graduate Center hosts Andy C. Pratt, professor of cultural economy at the City University London; Thomas Frank, political analyst and journalist; Jenny Gersten, executive director of Friends of the High Line; and Martha Rosler, artist, activist, and writer. Moderated by Sharon Zukin, professor of sociology at the Graduate Center.
