Elizabeth Gaffney is the author of When the World was Young, andMetropolis, which was a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers selection.  She has translated three books from German and her stories have appeared in many literary magazines.  She worked as a staff editor at George Plimpton’s Paris Review and currently is editor at large of the literary magazine A Public Space. She is faculty member of The New School Riggio Honors Program: Writing and Democracy.  

René Steinke is the author of the novels, Friendswood, The Fires, and Holy Skirts, a novel based on the life of the Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven, and a finalist for the 2005 National Book Award. Her essays and articles have appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, O: the Oprah Magazine, Bookforum, and elsewhere. She is the Director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Until 2007, Steinke was Editor in Chief of The Literary Review, where she now holds the position Editor-at-Large.
