Brazil has come a long a way since the mid-1990s. But it needs more savings and investment, better education, and a reduction in the Brazil cost of doing business. In this session we discuss why opening the country might help catalyze the process. This talk is part of the course, Political, Social, and Economic Development of Brazil (Instructor Sidney Nakahodo). Speaker: Edmar Bacha, Director of the IEPE/CdG and former President of BNDES and Economic Adviser to President Fernando Henrique Cardoso. Co-sponsored by the Program in Economic Policy Management.
