Frida Escobedo will discuss her recent work and overall practice with Beatrice Galilee, Associate Curator of Architecture and Design at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Frida Escobedo has a degree in architecture and urbanism from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a Masters in Art, Design and the Public Domain from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. In 2003 she founded the studio ‘Perro Rojo’ with Alejandro Alarcón, and since 2006 she has worked as an independent architect. She was the recipient of the Scholarship for Young Creators in Mexico and a winner of the Young Architects Forum by the Architectural League in NY. She has taught at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and in 2012 her work was presented in the Mexican Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco. This year she was also invited to participate at the Venice Architecture Biennale in the Swiss Pavilion and to lecture at the California College of Arts in San Francisco and Columbia University.
