Celebrating the excellent work of Eugene Lang Alums, the Literary Studies department will host a reading and conversation with authors Rufi Thorpeand Emily Gould. Both authors' most recent works focus on female friendship, motherhood, and women’s rights -- topics they explored while at Lang.

A native of California, Rufi Thorpe received her MFA from the University of Virginia in 2009 and her B.A. at Eugene Lang College. Her novel, The Girls From Corona del Mar, was published by Knopf in July, 2014.

Emily Gould was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. She went to Kenyon College for two years, then completed her B.A. at Eugene Lang College. Her novel, Friendship, was published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in July, 2014.
