Matthew Lyons is the curator at the Kitchen in New York, where he has organized numerous exhibitions and performance projects since 2005 with artists including Glen Fogel, Amy Granat, Vlatka Horvat, Jenny Perlin, Sara Greenberger Rafferty, and Mika Tajima. He is a contributing editor for Movement Research Performance Journal and is the editor of the Six Sides, Typologically Distinct: Black Box/White Cube series, which he initiated in 2009. His writings have appeared in many journals and publications; most recently, his essay “Islands in the Data Stream” appeared in Mika Tajima: Total Body Conditioning (London: Black Dog Publishing, 2015).
