Join us for a lively interdisciplinary discussion of the new book, Control: Digitality as Cultural Logic (MIT Press, 2015), written by Graduate Center alum Seb Franklin. Drawing on media theory and history, economic practices, management techniques, and aesthetic works, the book examines the ways in which control functions as a logic of capitalism and an episteme of power with socioeconomic implications that manifest before and beyond technical processes of digitization. Franklin will be joined by Patricia Clough and Jasbir Puar who will each discuss this topic in relation to their ongoing scholarship in different disciplines in the humanities.
