ALI BENMAKHLOUF is Professor of Philosophy at l’Université Paris-Est Créteil and a senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. A specialist of medieval Islamic philosophy, political theory, and Frege, he is the editor of the Arabic edition of the Dictionary of Untranslatables: A Philosophical Lexicon. His recent publications include L’identité, une fable philosophique; Selon la raison; andPourquoi lire les philosophes arabes?
DANIEL HELLER-ROAZEN is Professor of Comparative Literature at Princeton University. He is the author of Dark Tongues: The Art of Rogues and Riddlers; The Fifth Hammer: Pythagoras and the Disharmony of the World; and The Enemy of All: Piracy and the Law of Nations.
